Developing Nature and Outdoor Play at Lakeside Community Primary School,
For our Youngest Learners
We hope you have noticed the changes we have been making to the outdoor area in the EYFS unit, with the Grant we received from the Ernest Cook Trust, this has included the introduction of a Mud Kitchen, waterproof overalls, various play equipment and better use of the Road Track, the children have had great fun exploring and learning.
We are pleased to advise you that we have been successful in our bid to the National Lottery and during the summer break will be having a “Hide & Climb Lodge with blue slide and a new sand sketcher, which doubles as a “Stage”
The play equipment in the main school area is also been re furbished during the holidays, for the benefit of the whole school.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support with our bids and if you any ideas for any future developments in the EYFS unit or any where in school please speak to a member of the team.
Thank you for your continued support.
Mrs J Reynolds, Unit Leader
The biggest impact that we have seen since your donation is that our children are improving their communication and language skills as they play and explore the new areas. We have had huge success with our fantastic new mud kitchen area.
“ I’m making chocolate cakes, but they are mud really. We need to mix the mud and scoop it in here”

“The mud is very dry now. It needs to be more sticky. Shall I get more water?”
